Christians in U.A.E. are asking us to pray for:
-
Pray for the key leaders: Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (President), Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister) and the other five rulers of the remaining emirates will rule wisely bringing peace and justice. God instructs us to pray for the leaders of nations (1 Tim 2:1-6). Pray that these men will rule wisely and bring peace and justice to their respective emirates.
-
Expatriates comprise the majority of the population (around 90%). There are many believers among them and God has given them freedom to worship together. Pray that these expat Christians would catch a vision to see the gospel proclaimed to the Emirati people. Pray that the Lord would raise up many among Indian, Filipino, Korean, Egyptian, and Western believers among many others to share their lives and the gospel with the Emiratis.
-
Pray for the very few Emirati believers, that they would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Pray that each believer will find several family members who will engage with the Gospel and that they will be able to quietly meet together. Pray for whole families to come to faith!

The UAE is a hot desert land like most of the AP. Pray Genesis 21:8-21 and John 4:14 over those in the UAE. Ask that they will learn that Jesus Christ is the “Water of Life” and go to him to drink and live! Pray for the Emiratis, that God would take out their hearts of stone and give them new hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 11:19). Pray that the Spirit would cause them to walk in his statutes (Ezekiel 36:27). Pray that God would show himself through signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit according to his will (Hebrews 2:4). Pray that he would open their hearts so that they would believe the Gospel (Acts 16:14).
-
The god of status and prestige has its grip on the UAE. The culture is marked by using money to gain personal power and glory. Pray that this god would be crushed so that the Emirati people would follow Christ no matter what the cost (Mark 10:17-31).

Dubai is a major international hub for transportation, finance and tourism. Its high standard of living supports a culture of luxury, opulence and extravagance. It is a busy, wealthy place where people are generally oblivious to the things of God. Pray that the people of Dubai would see their true condition before God and repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. “For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” (Rev 3:17).

Every year, research is done among Arab young adults and every year, they state that the UAE is the best country in the Arab World. Pray for the Emirati young adults who comprise the majority of the population. Pray for open minds that are not afraid of radical change toward new thinking and beliefs. Pray for a greater openness to the Gospel as they leave some traditional ideas behind.
